According to the African Development Bank(AfDB) women-led startups are key drivers of economic development across Sub-Saharan Africa contributing to financial integration in the continent through job creation.
Reports state that Sub-Saharan Africa has the world’s highest rate of women involved in entrepreneurial activity at 26%.
In other words, women are more likely to become entrepreneurs than men.
In addition, women entrepreneurs contribute between $250 billion and $300 billion to African economic growth, equivalent to about 13% of the continent’s GDP.
Interesting… isn’t it?
The stats all point to one thing: women-led startups would continue to rise and ultimately lead the continent’s transformation, closing the gender inequality gap.
